In UTAUT model, there's a relationship between performance expectancy and behavioral intention. Could we use attribution theory to explain the relationship?

Yes, UTAUT (Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology) depicts that there is a significant relationship between PE and BI. One's intention to use a technology is influenced by the person's belief that this tech. can assist him in increasing his performance. You can, if you want to, try to use the Attribution Theory (Weiner, 1980) to explain this relationship. Successful individuals would usually try to do tasks which are associated with success due to their high confident level - they believe they can and it should not take too much effort on their part. On the contrary, people who are not so successful would usually avoid these tasks due to their lack of confidence. This can also be linked to "loss aversion" attribute whereby some people would prefer avoiding loss compared to risking for gains.
