I am working on different parameter for making parboiled(soaking,steaming,drying,milling) rice. Steaming for 15 min and 25 min provide unlike type of broken rice after milling. Now how can I count this accurate broken rate?
My sample is 200 g after milling.

You can use an indented cylinder machine (check the figure how it works), please check if there is one in your lab or institution.
This machine, which is used in rice industry, can separate broken from sound-whole kernel based on the difference in weight between those kernels (broken and sound-whole). You will obtain both ratios broken and sound-whole and the calculation will be very easy.

Another option is by visual observation of the kernels. Then you can weight each portion and calculate its percentage based on the total (200 g). But this technique is very time consuming, but it is scientific recognized
