I'm just starting my PhD and my research project is a comparative study of the waste laws in Europe and Brazil, specially focusing on the topics of: packaging, electronic waste, and landfills. The idea is to understand the process of creation and implementation of the european directives of the Member States and, by evaluating the successes and difficulties of such, to transfer the positive experiences to the Brazilian legal framework (which only recently has been focusing on the waste problem).

Heyd, the European Commission has to report annually to the European Parliament about the implementation of directives in the Member States. At least on some general level, these reports illustrate implementation problems in certain and sometimes in all MSs. Let me know in case you have trouble finding them...

Thank you! Actually, I have tried it but I haven't found the right path to access them ... I could only one or two random reports because those had been published in some other website. Do you know any better way or do you have any contact person? For instance, I am really interested in France, UK and NL. I've already wrote to many members of the French delegation in the DG Environment, but simply, no one replies.
