I'm conducting a study that evaluates the effects of different concentrations of acetic acid (HAc) on the CO2-corrosion of carbon steel at high temperatures (above 90 °C). To support my discussions, I would like to verify if there is any study about the influences made by changes on the pH on the amount of Fe2+ that is released in the solution by the corrosive process. Something like this would really add to my work, since that I want to verify my hypothesis, that even though the increase on the HAc concentration promotes slight reduce on the pH (hence increasing the solubility of the corrosion products i.e. FeCO3), the increase on the iron dissolution (by the increase on the medium aggressiveness) is significant to observe a little more precipitation of corrosion products at higher concentrations of HAc.
