I want to start photoelectrochemical studies on my compounds but I am confused, could anyone please tell me that whether I need Cyclic voltammetry instrument or not?
If ur main aim is to study current - voltage, current - time characteristics in the presence and absence of light , then u dont need to carry out CV studies, however many electrochemical studies requires CV studies which solely depends upon ur interest.
It depends clearly on the demand of information you have. I suggest you to have such equipment to best monitore and synchronize photo and electrochemical events as well as to reach a better current-voltage control, consider that all analytical laws must be followed for both detection systems.
In photoelectrochemical measurements, Usually the current-potential curves are obtained under standard illumination conditions. It is usually done with a potentiostat/galvanostate in conjunction with solar simulator. Additional studies usually require CV measurements too as mentioned by others.
You must have a potentiostat/galvanostate for your project. A potentiostat/galvanostate is the core of any electrochemical station. . If you have one, you will be able to record CV as well.
Dear Mr. Waqas Please follow the Professor Yurii V Geletii comments. His all comments are very helpful and useful. Professor has given me also comments about bi-potentiostat which were really very helpful to me.
