Looks like Harlequin bug family Pentatomidae, These insects have red, orange, yellow markings. Adults and nymphs of this family feed on the stems and leaves of plants such as cabbage, broccoli etc.
Could it simply be a Poecilocoris nepalensis? There are nice examples of similar phenotypes on https://www.inaturalist.org/taxa/713955-Poecilocoris-nepalensis. Beautiful picture you took with your 7D by the way! :)
Aymeric Fouquier d'Hérouël Thank you. I have considered this and have seen several Poecilocoris nepalensis from Nepal. They have never been this heavily spotted and have always been dark red color in my experience. That being said, this can always be its form.
Anders Forsgren Thank you. Common names can be misleading. This was originally described as Poecilocoris separabilis Yang, 1934, later synonymised under Poecilocoris lewisi (Distant, 1883) by Tsai & Redei, 2010. So this is P. lewisi indeed. This taxon, like some other Scutellerids, is very variable morphologically.
