I have conducted Mann-Whitney U test on ordinal data of responses on certain measures to see whether gender, age and other variables have any significant effect on the responses. I have found from the Mann-Whitney Z value and the p (significance) that some variables have significant effect. For example, males and females are responding differently to certain situation. How do I know which gender is responding positively and which one responding negatively on a 5 scale (1 for very negative response and 5 for very positive response)
