I am looking to compare water adsorption isotherm for silica from two sources:

Article Water Adsorption Kinetics and Contact Angles of Silica Particles

Article Determination of Physisorbed Waters on Silica Gel and Porous...

The first source uses units of mg of water per m^2 of silica surface, while the second uses the more common units of ml of water at stp per gram of silica.

My initial thought was to use dimensional analysis with molar volume of water vapor and the given specific surface area of the silica used in the first study, but this gives unreasonably low values that do not agree with the paper's own literature comparison.

Is there a conversion factor other than specific surface area that I'm missing?
