Does anybody know of a source for internal and external values for hc that could be used for building modelling?
hc woun’t be a static figure as it is a time-variant function of ΔT, velocity of fluid concerned and surface properties of the solid material, so for instance EnergyPlus software calculates hc dynamically. However I wonder if a source exists that gives average static values for material surfaces of various description?

if you solve free convective heat transfer you can use the criterial equations using adimentional numbers suhc as Grashoff, Prandt an d Nusset, esle, in flow convective heat transfer includes reynold numbers
It is not so simple problem as you understant it in general. The heat and mass transfer coefficients are strongly dependence among ourselves. There are many differences in the convective and conductive mechanisms of exchanges between heterogeneous surface and surrounding media. In the case than physical characteristics of external media are chages during transfering proceses, the heat and mass transfer coefficients large varing with time. I don't met such source where mentioned transfer coefficients are described for any material, becouse the phase transition processes as usually are accompany to heat or mass exchangers.
Good morning. I recently finished the advise of a master student who wanted to verify the origin of that coefficients. Her work is in Portuguese, available by e-mail if you want. Pay attention that 1) hc usually contain linearized radiation components 2) hc reflect a possible interest of equipment manufacturers to super estimate heat losses.
