Bounded rationality combined with unrestrained rent seeking always lead to irrational behaviour that distort prices, markets etc., but in the long run lead to other problems further down the line.

If being greedy is harmful to you and others, it is a vice which has to be minimized, if not eradicated.

We have moral responsibility to others, society and the planet. We can be rich, even very rich provided that it happens not at the expense of others' well-being. The most important goal in life is not being very wealthy, but being happy cognitively, emotionally, and behaviorally.

Thank you Kheepe Lawrence Moremi and Henarath H. D. N. P Opatha for the insightful contribution. I guess we have to learn as a human race that wealth is not the ends but the means to improve the life of our fellow humans.

Doing good is boundless but bad deeds are meant to end. Some opportunities come in our way to test our characters and the way how we react to these opportunities define our inner self.

I do not believe greed is good. However, many people, rich or poor have got some form of greed in themselves. The society has taught us to be capitalistic ie. when you have more you need to continue getting even more and if you have less continue getting lesser. That's just how it is.

Behavioral approach coupled with unrestricted resource extraction often lead to unreasonable action that distorts costs, economies, and so on, but in the long run leads to further down the line other issues.

Most of the running and built capital stock (book-keeping via collateral bank accounts, i.e. money) is owned by inheritance, and only another smaller margin (max. 20% from 100) is gained via extra-temporal profit (e.g. inventions). Most of these inherited rentier values (earning an unearned income via wealth) are derived from the land value of (privatized) natural resources and the location of real estate. So, most of what you call profit is factually economic rent. Rentiers and the related family offices need not to be greedy, they have made it already ‚for eternity‘, if no greater war or revolution sets in. Greed is exercised from those guys (your sanitizer example) in the streets, who want to hit the ball. The rentiers are even philanthropists and give to the needy, e..g. even sanitizers. My grandfather told me: with wealth, you easily make an income; but with an income, you can hardly make wealth. And: you need to invest very much wealth to make a little income from horses and horse races.

I agree with you, but its distrubing that sometimes our place in life is partly and in some cases mostly determined by what we inherit. Raises the question as to whether there is true mertitocracy in the world...

To keep this detrimental emotion of greed in check, having a definite trading plan in mind ideally written out will help. Keep the plan nearby where you can reference it prior to placing any trade. By having a clear trading plan that is written out, we know exactly what we are looking for in terms of an entry. Don’t compromise. Wait for the precise entry as laid out in the plan itself. Let the market come to you rather than you chase the market in greed of missing a trade.
