I believe it has a lot of implications as tourism falls in the category of social science and behavioural research where we deal with data which are mostly qualitative in nature and quantification can not do justice to the research. However, it mostly depends on your objective and the type of data you are dealing with.
I agree with Priyakrushna that objective of your research should determine the method of analysis. In addition, the method of data analysis should be taken into account when you collect your data.
I agree with the previous comments. Tourism research represent a field where there are many possible phenomena to be studied. You should focus your phenomenon of interest and your research question. From the research question, you can select the research object and you can be able to understand if content analysis or another method is suitable. The selected method (e.g., content analysis) guides you in how to conduct research.
