Is it safe to connect a gas tank instead of compressor to a laser system that uses gas to cool down the sample and clean the debris. The system won't start unless compressor is working. What pressure shall I provide?
Incomplete information. Check the rating of laser in the manual for the flowrate and pressure requirements. Then only this question can be answered accuratly
The stagnation pressure in the tank depends on the working Mach number required. This depends on the type of the nozzle you install, C or C-D. Back pressure determines the tank pressure. You may use "Gas Dynamics Calculator" in order to have different scenarois. e.g. for M = 3 , one have to have a pressure of 36.7 atm in the tank for a back pressure of 1 atm. Hopefully, I helped !!!
