In my COMSOL conjugate heat transfer simulation with laminar flow, I modeled a 30×30×3 cm rectangular duct with water as the working fluid and a 2 mm aluminum plate on top subjected to a 1200 W heat rate. I then introduced a 2×2 turbulator array inside the duct. My expectation was that adding turbulators would increase turbulence, enhance convective heat transfer, and thereby reduce the top plate temperature. However, my results show the opposite: the average top plate temperature actually increased with the 2x2 turbulators compared to the plain duct. What could be the main issue with my simulation setup?
