Can anyone give me an idea of what type of conferences I can present my work to pertaining to either the blind or visually impaired or leaders who are willing to hire the blind? Thank you in advance.
Usually all major ophthalmology conferences have a session dedicated to the impact of blindness and the prevention of avoidable blindness, so you should focus on these. The major ones are the American Academy of Ophthalmology (https://www.aao.org/) meet, the ESCRS (European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons) (http://www.escrs.org/), the World Ophthalmology Congress by the ICO (http://www.icoph.org/refocusing_education/world_ophthalmology_congress.html) and also ARVO (https://www.arvo.org/) in case your work deals with basic sciences in ophthalmology. In addition to these try to take up memberships of the IAPB (International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness) (https://www.iapb.org/) and the American Foundation for the Blind (http://www.afb.org/community/events/1). These organizations regularly have workshops and meets where you can pick up knowledge and share your work. I have also attached the IAPB brochure for membership benefits for use.
Sahil thank you very much. I am not looking at it from the medical point of view. I am looking at conferences for servicing the blind or how leaders should service them in the work place, I will certainly keep your information in mind and again. Thank you!
