When I finished writing my review of literature on language teaching, I noticed that both assessors were not satisfied with it. Although I mentioned all methods and approaches of teaching. They particularly interested in conceptual and theoretical framework. They asked me about the researcher's voice. I could not distinguish between them easily although I have read about them a lot. Still confused or uncertain ! Plz help

I think both are important ingredients in research. There are learning and teaching theories which are developed before. Understanding the right theory that matches with our research philosophy is very critical. These theories help to situate our research; mostly it is the literature part of our research where as conceptual framework is a process of conceptualizing our research. It is about the process of showing the relation ship of the variables of the research which are reflected in the research questions or hypothesis. It is the blue print of the entire research.

According to good research practices, the purpose of presenting the theoretical framework is to clearly identify the hypothesis and reflect on the theory after data collection and analysis whether it is confirmed or disconfirmed. In addition, theoretical framework provides and depicts theories that explain why the current research problem exists. However, I think that your research paradigm determines the role of theory in the research. You must consider your world view in the research; epistemology, ontology and axiology.
In conceptual framework section the fundamental concepts that characterize and delineate the study variables is presented to establish an informed understanding of the study field.
