I synthesis nano particles with and without graphene oxide...I use graphene oxide as a electron mediator...and I didn't have expect that adding graphene oxide have obvious effect on band gap value but surprisingly adding graphene oxide increase the band gap value...I wanna know that why this happened?

It is very interesting, how do you measure the width of the band gap in the composite? I have always believed that the band zone characterizes an individual chemical compound (even if you got it in nano form ), but not a composite. Also in my opinion you are carelessly using the term "synthesis". Decide on scientific terms, these are not just words ...

Gorshkov , at first thanks for your response...but about your question, I said I synthesis nano-particles without the presence of GO and in presence of GO...in fact the last one was nanoparticle-GO...I measure the width of band gap by DRS method and Tauc equation...I know that synthesis is a scientific term that must be used correctly...so I am sure that what I do was an in-situ hydrothermal synthesis that widely uses in numerous work like my work...and I believed that each compound have individual band gap as you mentioned, but in our application we use the nanocomposite not each of components separately, for this reason I have to measure the band gap value of whole nanocomposites

As I know, DRS used for thin film or surface characterization. Same time you claim that the "band gap of its nano-composites" increase. This characterizes the state of the nanocomposite as a whole, but your experimental data refer rather to the surface of the nanocomposite. In addition, terminologically more precisely in this case, to talk about the "effective bandwidth", but you creates the illusion that you perceive the composite as an individual phase, with respect to which the term "bandwidth" applies. Also, your refer to "numerous works" does not work, as truth in science is not determined by a majority, and each work must have a system of evidence. The reference to authorities it is good, but you need to prove your theses, as well as applicability of method.
