Hello friends,

I have seen several examples for the CFRP model as the 2D plane in abaqus. In these examples the material properties are specified as Unidirectional 0 degree only. Even though they have layers of laminae with different orientation. Here is one of the example from abaqus manual.[ Alfano (2001). ]

My question is that will the result gets differ for the same part with fiber orientation in 3D ? Why had he modeled composite as 2D plane in the orientation 0 degree only ?

I am doing the model of cohesive DCB. As still it is not possible to model composite in the 2D plane with fiber orientation in abqus.
