I am trying to compile Playrec using their Matlab scripts to be used for playing and recording audio using custom scripts in Matlab. These custom scripts are from a different lab, and requires Mac's CoreAudio to be included in the Playrec compiling option. The compiled Playrec file is typically called "Playrec.mexmaci". Apparently this worked well for 32 bit Mac and Matlab, but I don't seem to get Playrec to compile with this (coreAudio) option for 64 bit Matlab and Mac OS X (Yosemite; 10.10.5). I can compile it for other options that are highlighted during the compilation process (e.g., ASIO) but the coreAudio option is turned off. Does any one have some experience with running audio experiments using Matlab/Playrec/PortAudio? Thanks for your advice!

Sorry, have never heard of Playrec before. But --- if you can face recoding the custom scripts you've been given --- what about using Psychtoolbox instead? (which is very highly regarded, and which also includes support for PortAudio)
Thanks, Pete. I appreciate your suggestion. I have heard of the Psychtoolbox, but people have anecdotally mentioned that the Psychtoolbox is not as reliable for recording inputs as much as playing sounds. I am trying to measure otoacoustic emissions.
An update to this question: I got a compiled 64bit Playrec from someone and it works.
Glad you got it working. Perhaps would be good to post your solution here for posterity, if that is easy to do (?)
I can't imagine PTB could be *too* bad for recording, given that it basically just reroutes to PortAudio. But I've never tried it myself, so I may be wrong. Even playing with PTB can result in crashes or odd behaviour, but I'm inclined to presume that is as likely to be due to poor quality audio hardware/drivers.
