Why do some social groups tend to follow H. P. Grice’s rules of politeness (conversational implicatures), while other social groups tend to break or flaunt these rules?
Every language community enjoys its own sociocultural norms. Expecting persistent and fixed verbal behaviors is very often impossible. In point of fact, different speech communities are certainly unique in implementing conversation maxims.
