Hi,

I work with needle biopsy tissue from the lung and the starting tissue core I get is very small. I've been using the Qiagen Allprep DNA/RNA extraction kit (column base) and I am wondering if I am losing material in the column and should I switch to using a magnetic bead based method for extraction to increase my yield. I often would need both DNA and RNA for downstream whole exome seq and RNA seq. Does anyone have experience working small core biopsies or have done a comparison between using column based and magnetic bead based extraction? I would like to know your experience using either type of extraction method and the quality and yield of the DNA and RNA. Thank you!
