Doing a cold start calibration on a of ~4 liters diesel engine, in order to improve the startability, could have a positive impact the introduction of a post injection?
What about a delay, time/crank angle based, of the main injection?
The post-injection method is used to filter diesel engine exhaust gases. It consists in injecting a regeneration solution to increase the exhaust gases temperature.
The Post-injection strategy is effective in the case of the increase in the exhaust temperatures. While implemented in the LNT( Lean NOx Traps) the nitrates reduction to nitrogen is induced and adsorbant is regenerated. It's approximately (5-8 ) secs with rich mixture ( Lambda
Basically I know that the post injection is not forecasted to be a lever to be calibrated for the cold start, but I was thinking about as a secondary effect: if could be beneficial for the cold startability matter thanks to the fact that is "increasing" the integral of the pressure curve and then the work for a single cycle.
