I want to know some clarification about the calculations of DTRs. By definitation DTR is the "the difference between the daily maximum and minimum temperatures".
If Temp.Max= -3 and Temp.Min= -20
DTR= -3 - (-20) = +17
If Temp.Max= +3 and Temp.Min= -20
DTR= +3 - (-20) = 23
I am confused in above condition, becasue the actual differece is -17 but the result is +17 by definitaion. I already used +17 but I am confused that's why I need some clarifications.

You don't say that you are measuring the temperature in Celsius, but if you convert those temperatures from Celsius to Kelvin then you will find that in the first the DTR is 17K and in the second 23K.
I think that why you are confused is because the DTR is not a temperature, it is a temperature difference. If you convert those temperatures to Fahrenheit you get: -3 C = 26.6 F and -20 C = -4 F which gives a temperature difference of 30.6 F. But if you now converts 30.6 F back to Celsius you get 0.78 C which is nonsense. Therefor a temperature difference is not a real temperature.

Thanks for you detailed comment. Sir, I was not conversting DTR 30.6 F back to Celsius. I was only confused in the theoritical values. Now I confirmed and clerified.

To fixe your trouble, i just want to remind you that DTR is an amplitude. As a result, it can not be negative.
For a mathematical clarification:
(1) By definition, DTR=Temp.Max - Temp.Min
(2) On the other hand, it is admitted that Temp.Max>Temp.Min,
(3) hence, DTR>0.
Moreover, DTR is not |Temp.Max| - |Temp.Min|. Do not confuse!
