I have published around ten papers in some journals and conferences during my Ph.D. Now I am writing a survey paper from my PhD experience that what I have learned. Now being from the same area can I refer my all papers in the survey paper along with other works? Is it ethical?
Nitin - is not a case of is it ethical - but probably more a question of 'is it required or necessary'? If you are one of the few people publishing in a niche topic discipline then you will draw on all your work. If not and there are plenty of other authors in the area, then it is wiser to just cite a few of your more important and 'impacting' works - rather than all. Journal articles, as a rule, tend to resonate more with readers and have a wider readership.

There is nothing wrong with self citations done with relevance to the topic. Sometimes, the promotion managers may give less importance to self citations than citations of your work by others, as these may be indexed separately in impact parameters like h-index etc.
