The 2019-nCoV belongs to Betacoronavirus, which also contains SARS-CoV and Middle East respiratory syndrome CoV (MERS-CoV). Several drugs, such as ribavirin, interferon, lopinavir-ritonavir, corticosteroids, have been used in patients with SARS or MERS, although the efficacy of some drugs remains controversial.

Unfortunately, many drugs with promising efficacy in vitro have failed to be effective in vivo. Anyway, the efficacy of Remdesivir and Chloroquine needs to be investigated further in RCTs. There are many ongoing RCTs and anecdotal reports at the moment. You may find further details in the treatment section of this review article:
