We have the following Beckman system:
Beckman Coulter PF2D ProteomeLab Protein Fractionation system
Pf 2D – 116, pump
Pf 2D – organizer
Pf 2D – 116, detector
These were donated to our university and we have never run them before. We are almost ready to begin using them as an FPLC system .
One thing we do not know is whether they are safe to go into a 4 c chromatography refrigerator. Will they be OK, or do we need to operate them at room temperature?
Anyone with experience with these units?

My experience with FPLC systems (AKTA and Biorad systems in particular) is that they will tolerate operation at 4C quite well. But it is desirable to not move them between room temp and cold room frequently; rather dedicate an instrument for each environment. I don't have specific experience with the Beckman system you refer to.
