the POF core is usually made from PMMA. Aceton will dissolve it quickly. Also swelling will occur. It really depends on what you try to achieve?

If you just need to activate the surface for glueing or bonding, use an oxygen plasma.

Be aware that solvent treated PMMA tends to crack.
