I'm using MG-63 cell line for cell adhesion study on bioactive glass scaffold and it is non-porous. PLA and PDLLA are hydrophobic in nature so it will not encourage cell attachment. But my sample bioactive glasses contain salts which are hydrophilic. So what could be the possibility?
There are several methods to make PLA more hydrophyllic - e.g.

But my question is why do you need to attach PLA to bioglass? It has pretty good attachment properties in its own right?
Carl Gregory Thank you for your answer and reference. I would take your suggestion on making PLA hydrophilic. To answer your question, we are adding PLA to bioactive glasses to make it as a load bearing scaffold. Because of such property we have chosen PLA.
