Since you are in the U.S. I suggest looking through a VWR or Fisher catalog. Most brands will work and last for years. You will spend about $200-400 for a good hotplate and stirrer device, maybe less. Of course you will have to purchase magnetic stir bars that are Teflon coated. These will come in all sizes for your application. Just remember to buy one that you can use for other applications.
