I am planning to classify consumers by 3 types of resistor group (Resistance behavior) : Rejector (Rejection) Opponent (Opposition) and Postponer (Postponement).
And then I want to examine whether each group of resistor shows significant difference in each variable ( e.g. 5 Barriers on innovation adoption from Innovation resistance model from Ram and Sheth,1989)
I have read journals and researches regarding to this method but I am not clear how to classify those 3 groups of resistors.
1. One researcher used a cluster analysis but I want to ask if there is any other ways or if it is feasible for master thesis which has limitation on sample size (I expect 150 valid data sets).
2. Another researcher classified resistors as follow:
A: Certain innovative product or service
Rejector (have no intention to adopt A at all)
Postponer (have intention to adopt A within 1 year)
Opponent (have intention to try out A later than in 1 year)
and I am wondering if I can classify them by asking simple questions about period of time expected to adopt innovation.
I appreciate your any help in advance.
Please give me an advice if you have any relevant experiences on such topic!
Thank you so much.
Sincerely yours,
Dahee Baek
