Dansylated derivation makes possible HPLC with UV detection. For direct estimation pf Polyamines, mass spectrometry is needed.

I used benzoylated derivation for polyamines (Protocol used by G. Taibi), if you want to G.Taibi's protocol, I can send you e-mail.

Hi Natalie, in our lab we measured polyamines by reverse-phase HPLC using pre-column derivatization with ortho-phthalaldehyde and quantified them with the help of the calibration curve.
