Absolutely some tips are necessary for writing an article that some researcher don't consider them! In addition, some tips are asked by journal editors or reviewers newly.
Writing should be clear and understandable. The readers should not have to make an effort to what the writer wants to communicate; message should be comprehensible.
Rather than having an esoteric title, it should convey message about what the authors have worked upon.
The message should be well-defined in the abstract also as this is the section which a reader reads before deciding to move on to the detailed paper.
I believe being systematic in one’s approach while writing helps the author convey her/his message to the readers.
Feedback and constructive criticisms from colleagues are valuable.

Each journal does have its methods and protocols that are specified in ‘guidelines to authors’ section that need to be followed by any writer.
