I'm in search of research topics for my 4th year final project. I'm interested in doing my research related to GIS and predictions. I would be glad if you can help me by giving some ideas.
You could assess climate spatio-temporal variability e.g temperature, rainfall etc using GIS. You could also look at biomass modeling, soil moisture prediction, drought analysis etc.
It's been done many times but can always be done again with new methods/data but: anything environmental with time series for predictions of environmental changes or events or even just trend analysis
GIS is a well-known tool for basic data production. Prediction means capture the law of some dynamic factors and then forecast the future change. In other words, it means GIS with prediction method can produce many useful data including both historical and projected basic data for scientific reasearch. As far as I know, for more accurate climate predictions, climate and land surface modelings need a lot of those data , such as high-resolution rainfall, DEM, vegetation. More details can be found in my recent paper. I think it may be a suitable orientation with your familiar techniques.
