Is it suitable using cell wall protein profiles for classification of Lactic Acid Bacteria alone? How much is it's result reliable and acceptable? And how about their phenotypical characters?
It found more methods for lactic acid bacteria identification. The wall cells proteins method was very difficult, but in bergeys manual 2009 was speaking method
The cell wall of lactic acid bacteria may hardly differ from other gram positive bacteria. Researchers are working in the area to classify them on the basis of cell wall components using SDS page and DGGE methods. But it is difficult to say anything at current moment.
Using FAME - Fatty acid methyl esters you can classify any bacteria, it is a fatty acid profile based GC method. But using protein profile, I haven't heard anything like that and there is no protocol and reference library for protein profile of bacteria.
