The objective of treatment is to reposition and splint a displaced tooth to facilitate pulp and periodontal ligament healing. If this is done with the resilient NiTi wires, we might see a delay in healing. A stiff splint is offcourse traumatic. So in many cases, application of FRC for long time is contraindicated.
