You can use hydroalcoholic solutions in order to make your wet granulation but I guess it's better to use ethanol instead of methanol since methanol is kind of toxic and dangerous. You can use a mixture of water and ethanol of 50:50 and dry until 60°C. Do not exceed 80°C.
That is Right, Methanol in granulation process in some countries are prohibites. Methanol is toxic for the denveloper and for the consuption. It`s better to use ethanol in hydroalcoholic solutions.
In concordance previous answers to ethanol is an better option respect to methanol . PVP hydroalcoholic solution is probably The most common choise in wet granulation , keep in mind That water : Alcohol proportion election depends of several considerations: Hydrolysis susceptibility of active, drying system (beware with oven dryers), etc. Also keep in mind that drying process time increase with water content in granulation solution.
Thank you all for your answers. I'm aware that methanol is toxic but just wanted to know that if at all we only have to use methanol then what would be the recommended concentration?
