GR is usually used for cytogenetics but will it work for Molecular Biology? I have seen that the chemicals for Molecular work are different and not GR. What about AR grade? Can someone guide me?
In general, you have to do your homework and determine what grade of chemicals you actually need for the specific task, then select them according to the analyses charts provided by the manufacturers. Keep in mind that approximately the same levels of purity may be labeled differently by different suppliers. For example, GR is ACS level or better. "Primary Standard" would apply to analytical standards of very high level of purity; acetonitrile chromasolv ultra label refers to ultra-high-purity of that solvent for UHPLC.
