Validity and reliability are two fundamental elements in the evaluation of a measurement instrument. Instruments can be conventional knowledge, skill or aptitude tests, or survey questionnaires. Cronbach’s alpha is the most widely used objective measure of reliability among Medical educators. Therefore, can we use this measure to validate a questionnaire regardless of the discipline/ field of study or has anyone practically used this method?
