I have tried to address how management plans for fisheries can be local in relevance to the context that CFP (Common Fisheries Policy) guides. Is there any proof that such plans can be local for fishing management practices?
Could you provided more details please, I have been participating into closing the loopholed on the EU shark finning reguations on the EU FP. Maybe there is something useful for you as well.
I tried to see if there can be management plans on the local level that can provide the strategy needed to adopt local management measures for fisheries so as the CFP (2014) reform can be delivered and stop overfishing in the EUs country members waters. This means that the reformed CFP will be used to drive the needs of current fishermen along with their market potential while the needs of next generations will be also met. The new CFP defines the rules that the game is played so local needs must comply with European and national standards. ?
So at what level can management plans be delivered?
Dear Alex, usually local policies are more restrictive that regional or national ones. I do not know how it works for EU countries, but for sure if you have local rules, they need to be followed. Otherwise you can check local guidelines for fishery, whether available.
