A world without technology
"Having recently moved country, I have been relying upon my phone as my sole means of communication with the world. You can imagine my panic, therefore, when I found myself cut off from this world of social media shortly after my arrival in France. Although I was reunited with network signal after a mere week, this experience has led me to question whether our modern-day reliance on technology is becoming unhealthy.
I often forget that androids and smartphones are very much a novel invention. Writing in light of the recent release of the iphone 6, it is hard to imagine that our parents would have been considered lucky to have a fully functioning television just forty years ago. Nowadays, to the increasing detriment of traditional forms of communication, we rely on our phones for everything. Our androids act as calculators, clocks, cameras, calendars and music players, whilst traditional forms such as the letter are fast becoming a thing of the past. Similarly, our once regular trips to the high street are slowly being replaced by the wonders of online shopping, whilst the Kindle, for example, has become a popular alternative to the book. I can’t help but feel a little nostalgic about the latter especially; as a student of English Literature, there is nothing I like more than flicking through a traditional paperback book.
Additionally, I now notice more and more that the smartphone is replacing face-to-face communication. I regularly see groups of people in restaurants, for example, paying more attention to their phones than to each other. I can’t be the only person that thinks there is something inherently worrying about this; are we beginning to choose the company of technology over the company of other human beings?
Whilst I myself viewed my recent disconnection from social media negatively at first, I have to admit that I increasingly began to feel an underlying sense of relief. I was finally being forced to enjoy my own company and, dare I say it, there was something intrinsically nice about being alone."

صحيح أنه يمكننا العيش دون التكنولوجيا ولكن اعتقد ان الامر قد يصبح صعبا جدا لاعتمادنا على التكنولوجيا في أدق التفاصيل
It is true that we can live without technology, but I think it may become very difficult to adopt technology in the smallest detail
To me i can live without technology, I have tried not to be technologically tune in terms of western medicine. I have for the past 5 years been on alternative medications( indigenous medication). so it can be possible if we look at the adverse effects om modern technology.
Thank you very much to everyone who shared his sincere and wonderful opinion.
Wish you all the best in your career ,,,..
Modern technology becomes part of our life. We can not live without it.
Dear all,
Of course, we can. The human has the ability to adapt to everything in a wonderful manner!
Regards.
One of the benefits of technology is that it has allowed us to save time. Before the development of Google, students had to consult to libraries. Now, thanks to the internet, it takes us mere minutes to type what we require and obtain sufficient amount of knowledge.
Modern technology is an essential necessity for all people everywhere in the world.
Dear Redha Taiar , Khalid Jamal Jasim and Elsaid Elashry can you explain how?
Yes, can live without technology, but I am scared, while thinking of not being able to talk to my son, through my smart phone, if technology is not there.
Thanks to all colleagues for the interesting answers!
I greatly appreciate your valuable responses

New generations are born with the idea that it's impossible to live without all our modern technology.
Dear Seyed Mehdi Mohammadizadeh
I greatly appreciate your valuable responses
"We are the generation of the 21st Century and the focal point of this century is technology. Technology has grown its way in our lives in such a way that now, removing it would be like removing oxygen from earth – we all would simply perish.
Technology may have its negative aspects for every coin has two faces but let’s focus only on its one face – the face shining its positive light on all of us.
One of the main benefits of technology is that it has allowed us to save time. Before the development of Google, students had to consult to libraries. Where they would be lost amidst rows and rows of books, taking hours to explore the books required and further more hours to reach the point containing the appropriate information for their work. Now, thanks to the internet, it takes us mere minutes to type in exactly what we require and obtain sufficient amount of knowledge. It also brings all the important sources to one place – keeping them one click away.
Looking at it from a student’s perspective, technology also saves our money. While first, to read a book either for school or for leisure, we had to buy it from a book store. Now we can read the very same book for free online or for a cost multiple times less than its hardcopy’s price. Reading via a device is not only cost beneficial but also an efficient way to save space (a solution to a very serious problem avid reader’s face).
Another very important benefit of technology is the ease in communication it has caused. Telephone and cell phones keep us in contact with our loved ones no matter how far they are. We can not only talk and message but even see them via video calls, which is as good as being there with them (As long as you have good wifi connections).
For the youth, technology has come up with numerous apps on phones to keep us engaged, to spend our free time in a fun and pleasurable way and to socialize without actually talking (which is a huge advantage for introverts like me).
To think about life without it, one word comes in mind; bleak. Yes, it would indeed be very difficult.
Technology helps in keeping up with the fast pace of life and to take it out, suddenly everything will slow down. Without phones, it would be hard to keep track of our friends and family and the only form of communication will be to visit their houses and that can never be always possible. People will lose touch with relatives living abroad. Travelling would take a long time. It would take days to go to different cities let alone countries.
Life would become black and white, with all the bright colors sucked away.
For children, spending time on their phones and ipads, swiping through apps, playing games is all due to the advancement of technology. Watching their favorite television shows and movies is first class entertainment for them. Without all this, they would have no means of entertainment.
Although this might increase the youth’s physical activities as they step outside their houses for recreation but what about when they cannot go outside? When it is too cold or too hot? Or when the night has begun? How many indoor activities are there to replace these technologies? Not many.
While living lives without them was possible before their arrival, now, after using them to such an extent, going back will be absolutely impossible. Technology has shaped our lives to the point where living without them is very difficult (and terrifying) to even imagine.
The only important point to remember is that; use technology as you desire but do not let it consume your entire being."

No we can't live anymore in caves. We have to adopt and adept to modern technology if we have to keep pace with time. Technological revolutions over the time have brought about substantial change in the quality of life and comfort level too. Without modern technology there would not have been industrial, medical, green, and white revolutions which have a far reaching impact on the life of mankind. However it has a dark side too like ecological degradation.
Man can live without technology but will become a little closed and primitive life
It is due to development of modern technology we all feel happy that the world has become smaller to live & as such some time back I have my publication under the captioned ''Life Without Internet '' Which I submit herewith for your perusal with a request to offer your valuable opinion
Thanks
In my opinion, we have to live at least one day without technologies per week, even without own cellphone.
"Of course your initial reaction would be that naturally we could live without technology. After all, the human race has been around for thousands of years without technology and it lived long enough to last up to the invention of technology.
However, there is living and there is "living". You can live in a state where you have nothing and are just basically surviving from day to day. Always hungry, always alert and constantly dirty. You would also probably be weak from disease and deficiencies. It is much better (perhaps?) to live in a state where everything you need is only a couple of steps away. Your environment is temperature controlled and you have excellent health. You are strong and fit if you wish to be due to a good energy intake and safe way to turn that energy into muscle (or fat depending on your lifestyle).
One state of living has been this way for thousands of years while the later state of living has pretty much only been around since the technological revolution. I know I would much prefer to be running on a treadmill next to a blond haired bombshell instead of trying to run away from a sabre toothed tiger.
That was then and this is now. Our lives are intricately entwined with technology (I seem to be waxing poetic today :) ) rather than being entwined with twigs and if that technology, through some sort of Bruce Willis apocalypse, were to disappear then what state would we be in?
I would have to say that some of us, the outdoor rugged grizzly Adams types, would survive in some manner however, quite a lot of us would simply perish. This is because without technology we just would not be able to look after ourselves.
Take me for instance, a fat balding computerphile who is close to the half century mark (and I'm not talking about cricket). If you were to take me and plunk me down in the middle of the Australian outback without even so much as a roll of toilet paper I would most probably, in fact would definitely, be a crispy blubbering wreck of a human being within a matter of hours. In a matter of days, provided I find some water, as soon as my fat stores run out, I would be dingo food.
Yet the native population, who didn't have technology, lived on the exact same land for thousands of years and manage to survive, and get fat! They had a culture, arts and crafts as well as some kick ass abs!
It is technology which has made us what we are today and if that technology were to disappear then I would say that so would we. Some of us may survive but we would not be living. In the sense that we call living now. Is that a good or bad thing? I don't know, you can tell us what we think in the comments below."

Dear Bashar Owaid Seyed Mehdi, Mohammadizadeh, E. Talebi and Rohit Manilal Parikh
. Your comments are welcome.
The answer is included in the question. We can surely live without modern technology but then, we will not be modern rather we will be ancient. The ancient people lived with ancient technology while moderns live with theirs, but technology will always be there, it is part the make up of man, to subdue and rule the earth.

Of course: after a thermonuclear disaster, we will have no choice.
No, we can not live without modern technology. Or: most of us would die without the support of modernt technology. Keep in mind, that there are almost 8 billion humans on Earth. That number is too big to be sustainable without the benefits of modern technology Endre
Sure, but not as long as we live now.
Can you live without antibiotics? Perhaps only a few years, unless you are lucky. Can you live without electricity? Sure. People used to do so all the time. And they died young too. For many reasons, reasons which have been eliminated by machines run by electricity.
Life expectancy in Europe, between 1500 and 1800, which I would call the era before "modern technology," was between 30 years old and 40 years old. And uncomfortable at best, even when so short. You'd have many fewer humans on this planet, eh?
very difficult to live without in my opinion. Thanks for the interesting imputs
Best

The application of technology in life and the different stages of technology's impact on life, which can be divided into three categories: agriculture, industry, and industry. In all human life, man has been seeking knowledge and knowledge for the sake of perfection. From this, technology was created in all fields of science and knowledge that sparked the flowering of human life in economic, cultural, political, social, artistic, and even religious realms.
Looking at the technology of the present age in the realm of individual life and contemplating the positive and negative effects of technology in this field, one can see the evolutionary process of how people live. Technologies that enter the consumer market every day brings a new culture, and human beings as consumers spend on the production of material and spiritual technology, and accept it and attach it to it. Dependence that has sometimes led to the overthrow of human values. Some thinkers, like Herbert Marcuse, state their general theory of technology domination: All industrial societies, by their belief in their science and technology, have adapted to a clerical-compatible clerical, the rational means of all cultural, political, Social and economic ability of society to remain faithful to the principle of material benefit. But here is a category called the proper use of technology, which can be used to correctly navigate the technology to override the principles of value.
Technology is of great importance today, so that it has attracted the attention of everyone, because it is used for everything. It goes without saying that the technology also has some advantages and disadvantages!
Technology with the invention of network systems has begun. In this way, communications are enhanced, and domestic and foreign companies communicate easily. Work has also been simplified for researchers.
In today's world, humans can not live without technology, such as television, cell phones, computers. New technologies play an important role in the everyday lives of people, and many people consider life without it as unthinkable. To understand technology, it should also consider its advantages and disadvantages.
One of these disadvantages is people's dependence on new technology. For example, with the invention of a worthwhile calculator, humans will do their job without thinking and doing mental calculations and will lessen their memory computing. In some areas, digital machines can replace the minds of humans. Definitely, the use of technology requires new laws and regulations. Ultimately, most technological discoveries are designed to reduce human effort, meaning that things are done more with digital devices. Too many false jobs have been created. Finally, the negative impact of technology in children should not be overlooked either.

According to the modern sophisticated life which depends mainly on technology, the answer is no.
Advantages of technology
Advancement technology is for the benefit of humans for various reasons. At the medical level, it can help people with dangerous illnesses and save lives of many people. Technology is also beneficial for profit, saving money and getting closer to money. Information is exchanged quickly over the Internet. Currently, sales around the world are facilitated and feasible. With these facilities, the business can grow and make the raw materials at a discount or at the lowest cost. Simply put, global tourism has grown, which does not affect all of this in terms of prosperity and income.
Technology has also increased the productivity of the world's industry. We can even pay bitcoins without the need for a bank. As time passes, the world will face new discoveries. For example, when radio waves were discovered, radio broadcasts were immediately followed. The same applies to television and electricity. The technology of everyday life has improved; enthusiasts are also able to send astronauts to the moon.
According to Posen, in the modern industrial world, machinery performs most of the agricultural and industrial work, and so workers produce much more than a century ago, while working less. They have more time to practice and work in safer environments.
Yes, can live but during holidays only. Sometimes going natural is very effective.
I think yes,we can live without technology. Because our fathers were lived without these technology.
We can survive, as Dr. Nada A Rasheed mentioned in her answer. But our life will be primitive, simple and backward as it was before the introduction of modern technology.
Modern technology has taken up a great deal of our lives, an important amount of our preoccupations, so that it is impossible to abandon them, or just to move away from them, especially for the third millennium generation. No day can be imagined without a television or a computer or without a telephone. Mobile.

Yes we can, but the life become more difficult and challenge and I believe with more pleasure.
I think technology is there to make life easier, but we have to know how to use it and live with it.
Negative negative effects should not be ignored. Technology, in particular, digital technologies such as social networks and even web pages can have negative effects, including:
Access to incorrect information:
The existence of fake news sites and fake media leads to distortion of misconceptions and misconceptions and misconduct and has a negative impact on society. Therefore, in order to get away from this issue, the selection and identification of the media and the source must be sufficiently precise To apply.
Wasting time and energy:
Most of the time, for some people in the community, some of the products or tools found are mistakenly amusing, causing a lot of time to waste.
Weight Gain :
Today, weight gain is one of the major health problems that undoubtedly can undoubtedly be due to the lack of mobility caused by the continued use of digital technologies such as smartphones and televisions and personal computers. With proper use and as much as we can, we can avoid this important risk.
Reducing social relationships:
The undeniable nature of these days is for all people in our society, especially the ages, to overuse the social networks and the so-called contemporary chat or texting, which is quite a rigorous alternative to calling and even meeting people. Finally, it reduces the social context.
Thank you dear Fares Aboushnaf and Dawood Mahdi
