According to the world bank, the poverty headcount ratio at $1.90 a day (2011 PPP) was 26.7% of population in Ethiopia (2015). Ethiopia is one of the fast growing economies. Unfortunately, its still highly dependent in agriculture sector.
I personally believe the improvement in manufacturing sector in Ethiopia is compulsory. It will be interesting to see how the government improves its manufacturing sector (maybe attract FDI). Its very crucial for an economy to have a growing manufacturing sector to push out of poverty (create a healthy middle class).
From my readings on inequality and poverty; I understand that most of the economy of the world had been registered by developed countries. with figures 25% of the world's population accounts 77% of the world economy; 15% of the middle class accounts 17% of the world economy the rest 60% of the developing and under developing countries accounts only 6% of the world's economy. Africa in general and Ethiopia in particular is one of the contributor in the last 6% economy. This may be one of the evidence why? Ethiopia still remains poor.
As to our recent study, 28% of the people are under the poverty level(Unidimensionally poor) whereas above 50% multidimensionally poor (MPI) and around 84% headcount multidimensionally poor.
Bantayehu Tamrie Alemu There are a few different sources for Ethiopian data on poverty. As you are likely aware, not all sources are the same, as their metrics vary.
An important source is the CSA, a government body providing official statistics as per the Government of Ethiopia: http://www.csa.gov.et/index.php
For additional data, the World Bank Data Bank is quite useful:

Another good place for data is UNDP: http://hdr.undp.org/en/countries/profiles/ETH
