I think every researcher definitely gets to this situation at least once in their labs i.e. the final product in the form of wax/oil during the work up.

I have faced a lot during my experiments, sometimes I get rid of it by some means, based on the chemical nature of the product and reactants.

The final product may be in the form of wax/oil in certain conditions like, presence of impurity, presence of starting material and the pH condition of the reaction mixture. So, to overcome this, we may add some acid or base to neutralize the reaction mixture to get the solid product and dissolving the product in polar or non polar solvent to remove the impurities from the product.

Are there any methods to overcome this inconvenience in reactions?
