While using syms function, can we get entries of a matrix as symbolic expresions in matlab? So that we substitute different values to get different matrices.Can we do so?
Mostly working with polynomials we come through such situations where your entries of matrix comes from symbolic expresions, which on substituting different values gives you different matrices.

For example, I need a matrix with four entries, required entries are given below.
1st entry is (-x(2x-2)-4), 2nd is (x^2 + 2) , 3rd is (-x(2x-2)-4), 4th is (x^2 + 2) .
Further I want to substitute 1 in first two entries and 2 in 3rd and 4th entry, to get entries as numbers(scalars) but m not able to do so.
The command for the above entries is given below....
>>n=2
syms x
for i=1:n
for j=1:n
B=nchoosek(n,j)*(1-x)^(n-j)*x^j;
b=diff(B,'x',2)+B;
A(i,j)=b;
end
end
>>disp(A)
This command gives the above(required) four entries displayed as
[-x(2x-2)-4, x^2 + 2]
[-x(2x-2)-4, x^2 + 2]
I am not able to get them into a matrix, so that I substitute x=1 in 1st two and x=2 in 3rd and 4th entry, which should give required matrix.(with -4 as 1st entry, 3 as 2nd entry, -6 as 3rd and 6 as 4th).
I will be thankul to any guidance in this direction.
