How we can detect the virus (COVID-19) through remote sensing in sewerage water or hospital waste or water bodies? Which tool can help us (sensor, camera, any on spot test in the field, or any other surveillance possibility)?
Recent studies in Australia, France, the Netherlands and the United States reported that the Ribonucleic acid (RNA) of the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes COVID-19 was successfully detected in wastewater. Different concentration methods such as ultrafiltration, polyethylene glycol precipitation and electronegative membrane adsorption followed by direct RNA extraction were used.

I am no expert on the field, but I know the virus can be detected in waste water. It has been done in Costa Rica. I guess there is a standard procedure for that.
Junaid Furhan Can you share that specific study link with us..... I want to do on-spot testing of COVID-19 RNA with the help of UAV. Then, how it can be possible. One way is that, to collect the sample from a large water body with the help of drone and than do the testing in the lab or field.
Abhijit Mitra My idea is to drop sensor or testing device from drone in the large water body and that device gets the virus presence results and record the reading, then move to next position and so on.... Its like real-time sampling results in the water bodies ....
i dont think so. because i think it does not available in water. not sure but water remove the corona virus from our hands. so how it is possible to have corona virus in water bodies. i even didnt see any news about water bodies having corona virus.
Thank you very much for having initiated this discussion on this subject which completely turned the world upside down, (confinement, death, ... economic downturn, unemployment, ..... etc)
To answer the question, you have to know:
-Does the virus emit radiation? as it is microscopic it is difficult to verify this, it makes a work between the physicist and the bilogist;
If the virus emits radiation, it must be characterized (wavelength and frequency, etc.)
We must also see if we have a sensor (a crop scan) capable of detecting these virus emissions;
If all this is possible and the hardware is there, we can detect the virus anywhere, with a device that looks like a thermal camera, we can know if a surface (elevator, door handle, handrail of stairs, school table, the goods in the uprmache, ..... etc ...) contains the virus or not ??
thanks Sddam Housain for you initiative
from the comments of all the participants in this topic I learned a lot of things
H. Ibouh Thank you very much to share the possible detection of the virus through the thermal camera if virus is emitting radiations. Virus detection is very important because it can become a security threat to sensitive or security organizations in the world.
