Can we consider magnetic/electric lines of force as medium like air/fluid?

If we have to lift or move an object we have to apply force like pneumatic, hydraulic, muscle power or so .In these cases the force is applied through some medium like air or fluid.Actually the force is exerted on the body either as potential or kinetic energy.

In pneumatics attraction(suction ) or repulsion(blow) is achived by decreasing or increasing the pressure of the medium respectively.How does the magnetic force acts on the body?
