Earlier my Construct validity and reliability were poor, so I deleted the items which had poor factor loading values of less than.4. This led to an increase in Average Variance Extracted (AVE) above .5 but no there was no increase in Cron Bach's Alpha and Composite reliability as construct showed Cron Bach's Alpha value of .48 which is poor.
After dropping a few items from the scale, the composite reliability and Average Variance Extracted have been improved, but Cronbach Alpha is still lower than .7, should I show only composite reliability and AVE?
with a Cronbach's alpha lower than .7, it would be challenging to publish your work
You may check whether you are developing a formative scale (rather than a reflective scale).
