The small and medium organisations (SMOs) are skeleton of any country’s economy. Unfortunately academic and other researches are more focussed on large scale organisations. When in downturn the fast casualties are these small organisations. My present research is how to make these SMOs more robust to external challenges. One aspect I want to leverage is symbiotic relationship observed in biological species. There are several types of symbiotic relationship exists in real life. Out of these symbiotic mutualistic relationship offers good opportunity for SMOs to explore for collaboration. In this relationship, the clown fish feeds on small invertebrates that otherwise have potential to harm the sea anemone, and the fecal matter from the clownfish provides nutrients to the sea anemone. The clownfish is additionally protected from predators by the anemone's stinging cells, to which the clownfish is immune. The clownfish also emits a high pitched sound that deters butterfly fish, which would otherwise eat the anemone. If in a collaboration all the participants have such a relationship that no one can survive without the presence and efforts of others, then the collaboration will remain sustainable for long run. I request from others further ideas to explore in this direction.
