U6 promoter is suitable for short non-coding RNA such as shRNA or gRNA transcription. I am curious whether U6 also can drive a longer fragment like 2000bp? If not, what's the maximum length that U6 can drive? I don't mind if the transcripted RNA cannot be translated into protein.

Theoretically any promoter could produce any length .The transcript length depends on
termination signals and /or structural (e.g. nucleosome positioning) and biochemical
factors (polymerase used,necessary co factors,reactants etc).Why don't you simply try.
