At low pressure and short contact time, electrical discharges influences the formation of per oxides with OH as the radical initiator. One then wonders what happens when the pressure is altered to create a high vacuumed environment, if a super peroxide compound may be formed? Super peroxides may contribute to the achievement of pulp bleaching outputs that will equal or exceed results obtained from chlorine based pulp bleaching. These super peroxides may also present high rate, high speed and short contact time catalyst for various chemical reactions particularly in bio friendly water purification activities as well as in oil spill remediation operations. My group is looking at this possibilities and collaborations are welcome.
