I have got an MSDS indicating the STEL of a compound and I'd like to know what the relevant TWA would be. Is there a general ratio which roughly links the two parameters (regardless of the compound)? TWA=1/3 STEL or something like that?
Also, would you be able to provide references for this in case?

I suggest that you do a search of NIH NLM's PubMed ( https:///www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed ) using "TLV STEL" and look at the numerous citations. Please note the ability to sort by "Best Match" which highlights results like "The relationship between TLV-TWA compliance and TLV-STEL compliance" and "Critique of the ACGIH 2016 derivation of toluene diisocyanate Threshold Limit Values."
Please have a look at https://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/priced/eh40.pdf. Maybe your TWA is included there. Generally you cannot simply use a factor between STEL and TWA levels.
See page 108 in the attached document. You can consider TWA=1/3 STEL in case of absence of data.
