Hello, research community, I would like to clarify a question with you. Is there any study hypothesizing that the prolonged activation of glucose-6-phosphatase (G6Pase) during fasting exercise may, in the long term, overload pancreatic beta cells and increase the risk of type 2 diabetes in individuals with insulin resistance, due to excessive glucose release by the liver?

I’ve searched extensively in databases but haven’t had any success. If you could help me with this, I would be very grateful.

Sincerely, Raquel da Franca.
